About the Incident Management System (IMS) Module

The Incident Management System (IMS) can help build a strong safety culture at your organization.

Note: This functionality is available only to customers who have licensed the Incident Management System (IMS) module in PureSafety.

Collect Incident Information

IMS provides the tools to do the following:

  • Allow managers, supervisors, and other employees to easily submit observations of incidents, near misses, and conditions that could lead to an incident. Administrators have the option to allow users to submit these observations anonymously.
  • Create and configure the collection of observation data based on the type of observation.
  • Customize loss types and causal factors to fit your organization.

Follow Up and Monitor

  • Enable supervisors to follow up on observations immediately by assigning a corrective and preventative action (CAPA) to specific users, initiating an investigation to identify the root cause of a problem, or assigning training.
  • Send notification and update alerts to keep relevant persons informed and up-to-date.
  • Create employee injury records for work-related and non-work-related injuries.
  • Track injury details, treatment information, and resulting lost or restricted work days.
  • Monitor related observations, near misses, incidents, and injuries and follow up on them simultaneously.
  • Manage the entire follow-up process for a single incident or multiple related incidents from a single place.

Analyze and Educate

  • Calculate rates, such as Lost Time Incident Severity, by company, location or department.
  • Identify trends and implement follow-up steps without delay.
  • Quickly summarize and analyze events in a presentation that can become part of the PureSafety library.
  • Generate required OSHA reports (300, 300A, 301).
  • Use a guided scenario-based learning template and actual incidents and their corrective actions to create training that helps prevent similar incidents.
