Learn How to Create Presentations

You can create presentations in the CCS using either of the methods below.

  • Create a presentation from scratch.
  • Copy an existing presentation and revise it as needed.

When you create a presentation, you follow the steps below.

  1. First, we recommend you upload the default assets into your presentation.

There are six default assets that you can use in CCS. They are listed below.

    • Green check mark icon and associated audio file
    • Red x icon and associated audio file
    • Test icon
    • Introductory music audio file

If you copy an existing presentation in the CCS and use it to build a new course, the default assets are available automatically in your new copy.

If you create a presentation from scratch, the assets are not available by default. Contact PureSafety customer support to obtain copies of these files.

  2. As you build your presentation, you create individual slides. When you create a slide, you must select a template.

Each type of slide provides standard templates you can use to make it easier for you to place text and images on slides.

Note: Be careful when you select the template for your new slide. Make sure you select the one that best meets your needs. Once you select a template for a new slide, you cannot change it. If you need to change the template of a slide, you will have to create a new slide, select the appropriate template, and rebuild the slide.
  3. On each slide, you create containers for text, images, sounds, and other multimedia files you want to display to your trainees. First, you create the container and then you fill it with the appropriate content (images, sounds, etc.). Assets represent the content you add in these containers. You can incorporate the following types of assets into your presentations: images, audio, and multimedia files. Assets can enhance the quality of your interactive presentations. For each asset type, the following file formats are supported:
    • Image files: .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, and .png
    • Audio files: .mp3
    • Multimedia files: .swf and .flv (Adobe Flash file formats)
      • You can upload the following multimedia file formats: .3g2, .3gp, .avi, .flv, .mp4, .mpeg, .mov, .ogg, and .wmv. During the upload process, the CCS automatically converts these file formats to .flv files. This change ensures the files work correctly in the PureSafety.

For information about file size and format recommendations, see the Review Asset Guidelines topic.

When you create a presentation, you can also import a PS4 package, which is a full course, complete with images and audio files, that you have downloaded from another editing program.
