IMS Operator

The IMS Operator role provides substantially more permissions than the IMS Worker role. By default, administrators are granted the IMS Administrator, System Administrator, and IMS Operator security roles. Multiple security roles are required in order to have all administrator options in IMS.

Note: This functionality is available only to customers who have licensed the Incident Management System (IMS) module in PureSafety.
The IMS Operator security role includes the following permissions by default:
  • Can Add/Remove Event Owners. Allows the user to add or remove owners on the Summary screen in an event.
  • Can Add/Remove Event Root Causal Factors. Allows the user to add or remove causal factors on the Causal Analysis and Corrective Actions screen in an event.
  • Can Archive an Incident. Allows the user to archive incidents.
  • Can Change Event Status. Can Change Event Status
  • Can Change Incident Status. Allows the user to change the status of an incident. Users with this permission see a drop-down menu in the Status field and can change the status as needed.
  • Can Link/Unlink an Incident to Event. Allows the user to link submissions and events either using the Link button on the News Feed screen or the Incidents section on the Summary screen in an event. This permission also allows the user to unlink any events and submissions that are linked to each other.
  • Can Link/Unlink Injuries to Events. Allows the user to link injuries and events either on the Injuries screen or on the Losses screen in an event.
  • Can Link/Unlink Multiple Incidents. Allows the user to link multiple submissions that are related to the same issue using the Link button on the News Feed screen. This permission also allows the user to unlink any submissions that are linked together.
  • Can Merge Events. Allows the user to merge events that might be duplicate records by using the Merge button on the Event Feed screen.
  • Can Save Supervisor Report. Allows the user to Supervisor Report forms.
  • Can Sign-Off an Event. Allows the user to complete an event.
  • Can Unarchive an Incident. Allows the user access to the Unarchive buttons on the News Feed screen so they can unarchive incidents.
  • Can View Affected Party Statement. Allows the user to save Affected Party forms.
  • Can View IMS Directory. Allows the user access to the IMS functionality and the IMS tab in the top navigation bar.
  • Create Incident Flash. Allows the user to create an Incident Flash from the Actions menu within IMS Events.
  • IsOperator. Identifies the user as an operator. This permission adds the user’s name to the list of users who receive notifications when urgent incidents and incidents with losses are submitted in IMS and to the list of users who can excuse a task.
  • Manage Attachments to Incidents. Allows the user to use the Attachments tab in an incident record, where he can insert files about the incident, near miss, or observation he reported, such as pictures and witnesses’s statements. Users with these permissions can add, view, and delete these attachments.
  • Manage Auto-Assigned Tasks. Allows the user to edit and save auto-assigned tasks that are created when a user elects to save a Supervisor Report in order to finish it later, rather than submitting the report.
  • Manage Corrective Actions for Event. Allows the user to add, edit, and remove corrective actions on the Causal Analysis and Corrective Actions screen in an event.
  • Manage Event. Allows the user to create, edit, and remove events. This allows the user to open associated event records from an injury record.
  • Manage Event Tags. Allows the user to add and remove tags on the Summary screen in an event.
  • Manage IMS Notifications. Allows the user to change notification settings for all users by going to the Global IMS Notification Settings section on the Notification Settings screen.
  • Manage Investigations for Event. Allows the user to create, edit, and delete tasks on the Actions and Investigations screen in an event.
  • Manage Incident Tags. Allows the user to add and remove tags in an incident.
  • Manage Incident Tasks. Allows the user to create, edit, and delete tasks in an incident.
  • Manage Incidents. Allows the user to view and edit incident report that have been submitted. This allows the user to open associated incident reports from an injury record.
  • Manage Task Attachments. Allows the user access to the Attachments tab on the Edit Task screen. Also allows the user to add new attachments and delete existing attachments.
  • Manage Task Tags. Allows the user access to the Tags tab on the Edit Task screen. Also allows the user to add and remove tags on the Tags tab.
  • Preview Training. Allows the user to preview training before assigning it.
  • View Control Center Event Listing. Allows the user to view the Event Feed screen.
  • View Control Center Injury Listing. Allows the user to view the Injuries screen.
  • View Control Center Incident News Feed. Allows the user to view the News Feed screen.
  • View Control Center Task Listing. Allows the user to view the Tasks screen.
  • View IMS Event-Related Reports. Allows the user to run reports about event information, including the Causal Factors, Classification Listing, Event Counts, Events Listing, and Open Events reports.
  • View IMS Injury-Related Reports. Allows the user to run reports about injury information, including the Employees on LWD, Incidence Rates, Injuries Accruing Lost or Restricted Work Days, Injury Listing, and Injury Trends reports.
  • View IMS Safety Scorecard Reports. Allows the user to run the Safety Scorecard reports.
  • View IMS Submission-Related Reports. Allows the user to run reports about submission information, including the Employee Submitting, Observation Counts, Open Submissions Marked Urgent, Submission Counts, and Submissions Entered reports.
  • View IMS Task-Related Reports. Allows the user to run reports about task information, including the Corrective Actions, Open Investigations, Overdue Investigation Tasks, and Task Listing reports.
  • View Incident Flash in Library. Allows the user to see training titles in the Library which have the Incident Flash properties parameter enabled.
  • View Training. Allows the user to view a training's details and training properties
