Review IMS Permissions

You can review all IMS permissions and the default roles to which each is assigned in the table below. You can also review the permissions by opening an IMSsecurity role in the system.

Can Add/Remove Event Owners.

Allows the user to add or remove owners on the Summary screen in an event.

Allows the user to add or remove causal factors on the Causal Analysis and Corrective Actions screen in an event.

Allows the user to change the status of an incident. Users with this permission see a drop-down menu in the Status field and can change the status as needed.

Can Create "Body Part" Configurable Look-up Values.

Allows the user the ability to create, edit, activate, or inactivate look-up values for "Body Part" within IMS.

Can Create "Causal Factor" Configurable Look-up Values.

Allows the user the ability to create, edit, activate, or inactivate look-up values for "Causal Factors" within IMS.

Can Create "Cause of injury" Configurable Look-up Values.

Allows the user the ability to create, edit, activate, or inactivate look-up values for "Cause of Injury" within IMS.

Can Create "Nature of Injury" Configurable Look-up Values.

Allows the user the ability to create, edit, activate, or inactivate look-up values for "Nature of Injury" within IMS.

Can Create Dashboard Incident.

Allows the user access to the Report Incident button in the Incidents section on the home page.

Can Create Injury Log.

Allows the user to add a new injury log. Note: Users with the Manage Injury Log can create injury logs even if they do not have the Can Create Injury Log permission.

Can Delete an Injury.

Allows the user to delete an injury record from the Injuries screen in IMS or from the Losses screen in an event.

Can Delete Injury Log.

Allows the user to delete an injury log record. Note: Users who have the Manage Injury Log permission can delete injury logs even if they do not have the Can Delete Injury Log permission.

Can Edit Injury Log.

Allows the user to edit an injury log record. Note: Users who have the Manage Injury Log permission can edit injury logs even if they do not have the Can Edit Injury Log permission.

Can Edit Privacy Case Property for an Injury.

Allows the user to remove the privacy case designation for injuries that are marked privacy case. The following permission is required for this permission: Can View Identifiable Information for Privacy Case Injuries.

Note: Users must also have the security permission, Can View Identifiable Information for Privacy Case Injuries. Otherwise, they will be unable to see privacy case information and will be unable to edit the Privacy Case check box. Editing requires that the user be able to see the identifiable information.

Can Edit Risk Assessment Matrix IDs.

Allows the user the ability to edit risk assessment ids within IMS.

IMS Administrator

Can Link/Unlink an Incident to Event.

Allows the user to link submissions and events either using the Link button on the News Feed screen or the Incidents section on the Summary screen in an event. This permission also allows the user to unlink any events and submissions that are linked to each other.

Can Link/Unlink Injury to Event.

Allows the user to link injuries and events either on the Injuries screen or on the Losses screen in an event.

Can Link/Unlink Multiple Incidents.

Allows the user to link multiple submissions that are related to the same issue using the Link button on the News Feed screen. This permission also allows the user to unlink any submissions that are linked together.

Can Mark Event as Urgent.

Allows the user to mark an event as urgent using the Urgent check box in the event summary.

Can Mark Incident as Urgent.

Allows the user to mark an incident as urgent using the Urgent check box in the incident details.

Allows the user to merge events that might be duplicate records by using the Merge button on the Event Feed screen.

Allows the user to create an injury record and enter only data about the injured employee and the injury.

Can Record Injuries for Other Employees

Allows the user to create injury records for other employees. The user can provide only information about the injured employee and the injury. The user does not have access to enter case and treatment information.

Can Save Supervisor Report.

Allows the user to save Supervisor Report forms.

Can Sign-Off an Event.

Allows the user to complete an event.

Can Submit Anonymously.

Allows the user to submit a record about an observation, near miss, or incident anonymously by selecting the Anonymous check box in the incident record.

Can Subscribe/Unsubscribe IMS Notifications.

Allows the user to change the notification e-mails she receives by default by going to the My IMS Notifications – Subscribe/Unsubscribe section on the Notification Settings screen.

Allows the user access to the Unarchive buttons on the News Feed so that they can unarchive incidents.

Allows users to see the tab, Initial Injury Report, on incident records. This tab includes the original injury report that the employee submitted.

Can View Identifiable Information for Privacy Case Injures.

Allows the user to view employee name and other identifiable information (job title, gender, birth date, hire date, and addres) in all the places where injury data is displayed, including reports.

Note: This permission allows users to view the privacy information only. To edit the Privacy Case check box, users must have the security permission, Can Edit Privacy Case Property for an Injury.

Can View Incident Status on Dashboard.

Allows the user to see the status of his incidents and stay informed about their progress in the Incidents section on the home page.

Users who do not have this permission cannot see when their incident has been reviewed or if it has been taken care of.

Allows the user to view or create submission discussion.

Allows the user to create an Incident Alert from the Actions menu within IMS Events.

Import Hours Worked Counts

Allows the user to manually run the Hours Worked import.

IsOperator.

Identifies the user as an operator. This permission adds the user’s name to the list of users who receive notifications when urgent incidents and incidents with losses are submitted in IMS and to the list of users who can excuse a task.

Allows user to manage affected party statements.

Manage Attachments to Incidents.

Allows the user to use the Attachments tab in an incident record, where he can insert files about the incident, near miss, or observation he reported, such as pictures and witnesses’s statements. Users with these permissions can add, view, and delete these attachments.

Manage Auto-Assigned Tasks.

Allows the user to edit and save auto-assigned tasks that are created when a user elects to save a Supervisor Report in order to finish it later, rather than submitting the report.

Allows the user the ability to create, edit, hide, and show classifications within IMS.

Manage Corporate Incident Rate Goal

Allows the IMS administrator to set corporate incident rate goals for a location.

Allows the user to add, edit, and remove corrective actions on the Causal Analysis and Corrective Actions screen in an event.

Manage Custom Fields.

Allows the user the ability to create, edit, and delete custom fields used in IMS incidents and events.

Manage Event.

Allows the user to create, edit, and remove events. This allows the user to open associated event records from an injury record.

Allows the user to add and remove tags on the Summary screen in an event.

Manage IMS Lookup Tables.

Allows the user to inactivate standard values and to create, edit, and delete custom values in the IMS lookup tables.

This permission controls the management of the tables on the Lookup Lists screen only.

Allows the user to change notification settings for all users by going to the Global IMS Notification Settings section on the Notification Settings screen.

Manage Incident Tags.

Allows the user to add and remove tags in an incident.

Allows the user to create, edit, and delete tasks in an incident.

Manage Injuries.

Allows the user to create and edit injuries either on the Injuries screen or on the Losses screen in an event. This also allows the user to open an injury record from an incident record using the Open Related Injury Form link in the Actions menu.

Manage Injury Log.

Allows the user to create, edit, and delete injury logs in IMS.

Note: Users who have this permission have full control over the Injury Log even if they do not have the individual Can Create Injury Log, Can Delete Injury Log, and Can Edit Injury Log permissions.

Manage Investigations for Event.

Allows the user to create, edit, and delete tasks on the Actions and Investigations screen in an event.

IMS Operator

Manage Organization Unit Total Hours Worked

Allows the user to add and update hours worked information for organization unit.

Allows the user to create and edit incidents about incidents, near misses, and simple observations on the News Feed.
