Employee Web Services Error Messages

This section describes the errors the Employee Web Services can return and provides the steps for correcting these errors.

"A first name is required."

Displays when a first name is not provided when creating or updating employee records. Type a first name.

"A last name is required."

Displays when a last name is not provided when creating or updating employee records. Type a last name.

"Address1 is required."

Displays when creating or updating an employee record that does not have a mailing address if an address is required. Type the correct mailing address.

"An employee code is required."

Displays when an employee code is not provided when creating or updating employee records. PureSafety requires a unique employee code for each employee record. Type a unique employee code.

API_DISABLED_FOR_ORG

Employee Web Services access has not been enabled for the organization. Contact PureSafety Customer Support to enable Web service access.

CLIENT_NOT_ACCESSIBLE_FOR_USER

The current user does not have permission to access the specified client. Contact PureSafety Customer Support to enable Employee Web service access for this user.

DUPLICATE_VALUE

You cannot supply a duplicate value for a field that must be unique. For example, you may have submitted two employees with the same employee code, which must be a unique value. Make sure the erroneous value is unique.

Email already exists for employee.

Displays when trying to add a new email address to an employee record that already has an email address. Choose the correct email address.

INVALID_LOGIN

The login credentials are not valid. Contact your administrator for more information.

Invalid Birth Date entered.

Displays when an invalid date is entered for the employee's birth date. Type a valid birth date.

Invalid country for the address.

Displays when creating or updating an employee record that does not have a correct country value in the mailing address. Type the correct country.

Invalid country for the phone.

Displays when creating or updating an employee record that does not have a correct country value in the phone number details. Type the correct country.

Invalid Hire Date entered.

Displays when an invalid date is entered for the employee's hire date. Type a valid hire date.

Need a valid e-mail address.

Displays when an invalid email address is entered, such as 12@111.cccccccccccc. Type the correct email address.

Need a valid login name.

Displays when creating a user account that does not have a valid login user name. Type a valid user name.

Need a valid password.

Displays when creating a user account that does not have a valid password. Type a valid password.

Passwords do not match.

Displays when a user is creating his password and the password he enters to confirm his new password does not match the first password he entered. Type the correct password.

Phone number is required.

Displays when creating or updating an employee record that does not have a phone number if a phone number is required. Type the correct phone number.

Release date cannot be before the Hire date.

Displays when the date an employee leaves the company is earlier than the employee's hire date. Type the correct departure date.

The new password format is incorrect. Please refer to the password requirements. The new password must be at least eight (8) characters and contain any two (2) of the following: one (1) letter, one (1) number, and/ or one (1) symbol (e.g. punctuation).

Displays when the password provided by the user is not strong enough. It must be improved according to the given guidelines before it can be accepted.

The requested Group is invalid or missing. - Group:<GroupCode>, Employee: <EmployeeName>

Displays when there's an invalid code specified in the GroupCode field in the Web service. Type the correct group code.

The requested Organization Unit is invalid or missing. - OrganizationCode:<OrgUnitCode>, Employee: <EmployeeName>

Displays when there's an invalid code specified in the OrganizationUnitCode field in the Web services. Type the correct organization unit code.

The login name cannot include any of the following characters: #$%^&*().

Displays when creating a user account that has an invalid login user name. Provide a valid user name.

UNKNOWN_EXCEPTION

The system encountered an internal error. Report this problem to PureSafety Customer Support.

Web Service Authentication Failed

The Web service could not authenticate the specific user name and password. If you encounter this more than once, verify that you use the correct user name and password. If the problem continues, contact PureSafety Customer Support.
