This task includes instructions for inserting pauses (waits)
between assets and text on slides. For example, if you have text and an image on a slide,
you can insert a pause after the text so the trainee will have time to read the text before
the image displays. Pauses can also be inserted between assets.
-
Access the CCS.
-
Using the Slide Editor, open the slide you want to insert a
pause into (for instructions, see the View Slides topic).
-
In the Slide Editor, click the Slide Script tab.
The Slide Script displays for the selected slide.
-
Click the text or asset you want to
insert a pause after and click the
Wait button
in the Slide Script toolbar. A Wait section is added after the selected text or
asset. By default, the duration of the pause is determined by the trainee's
interaction with the presentation (i.e., the presentation pause lasts until the
trainee clicks the Next button).
-
If you want to define an exact wait time between assets or
text, select the Wait for a specific amount of time check box and type the
desired wait time in milliseconds. Once the number of milliseconds passes, the
presentation will automatically continue. To preview the slide with the wait as
it will display in the presentation, see the Preview a Slide topic.
