Edit a Slide While Previewing

You can edit a slide while you preview it in live preview mode. In addition to editing the text on a slide, you can also replace an image, multimedia, or audio file.

  1. Access the CCS.
  2. Open the slide you want to edit in live preview mode (for instructions, see the View Slides topic).
  3. In the Slide Editor, click the Live Preview tab.
A blank Live Preview tab displays.
  4. In the Play Controls section of the toolbar, click the Play button.

The selected slide begins to play in live preview mode.

  5. Once the slide reaches the point that you want to edit, click Pause in the Play Controls toolbar.
Note: If the slide automatically pauses before you click the Pause button, this means a wait was added in the slide. At this point, you must either click Play to resume playing the slide or click Pause to edit the slide at the wait point.
    1. Use the following steps to edit and format the text on a slide.
      1. To edit the text on a slide, click the text to highlight it and select Edit in the Text toolbar. On the Edit Text window, you can update the text or change the text font, the font size, add bold text, add italics to the text, underline the text, or change the text color. After making the desired changes, click the Accept Changes button.
      2. To change the text alignment, click the text to highlight it and select one of the following buttons on the Text toolbar: left align the text (default selection), center the text, right align the text, or justify the text.
      3. To add a bullet to the text, click the text to highlight it and click the Bullet button (to the left of the Edit button) on the Text toolbar. To remove the bullet, click the Remove Bullet button (to the left of the Bullet button) on the Text toolbar.
    2. Use the following step to replace an image or multimedia file on a slide.
      1. Click the desired file to highlight it and select the Select New Image in the Image toolbar. The Select New Image window lists all of the assets that have been uploaded to the Asset Panel. For example, if you select an image to replace, this window lists all of the image files in the Asset Panel. If you click a multimedia file to replace, this window lists all of the multimedia files in the Asset Panel. If the file you want to use is listed in the Select New Image window, select it and click OK. If the file you want to use is not listed in the Select New Image window, click Upload New and browse to select the file. Once the uploaded file is listed in the Select New Image window, select it and click OK.
    3. Use the following step to replace a sound on a slide.
      1. To replace an audio file, click the Sound icon in the lower left corner of the slide and select Select New Sound in the Sound toolbar. The Select New Sound window lists all of the audio files that have been uploaded to the Asset Panel. If the file you want to use is listed in the Select New Sound window, select it and click OK. If the file you want to use is not listed in the Select New Sound window, click Upload New and browse to select the file. Once the uploaded file is listed in the Select New Sound window, select it and click OK.
  6. To resume playing the slide, click Play.
Note: Repeat step 5 if you want to make additional edits to the slide.
  7. After the slide plays in its entirety and you have made all the desired edits, click Play again to review your edits. While previewing the slide, remember that this is exactly the way the slide will be presented to trainees who are viewing this presentation.
