Edit Assignments

You may need to edit assignments after creating them. The change you can make are listed below.

  • You can edit the assignment title to correct typos or clarify titles.
  • You can edit the assignment start and end dates.
    • This applies only to one-time assignments and one-time series. You can change the start date to a past date for assignments that are in progress or have been completed. For example, you can take advantage of this option if you assign several assignments to your employees on April 2, then create another assignment on April 15, and want it to be on the same timeline as the other assignments. In this case, you can set its start date in the past, for April 1.
    • You can change an assignment’s start date to a later date as long as the new date is not later than the end date. You can do this for certifications only if none of the trainees have started the certification.
    • You can change an assignment’s end date to an earlier or later date.
  • You can add training to and remove it from assignments that are in progress as long as the assignment end date has not passed.
  • You can remove trainees from in-progress assignments.
  • You can excuse trainees or mark them complete at any time for in-progress assignments.
  1. Go to the PureSafety tab > Assignments and select an assignment.
  2. Click Open or double-click the training unit name.
The system displays the details of the assignment.
  3. In the Actions menu, click Edit.
  4. Make changes to the assignment. For more information about the options in an assignment, see the Review Training Assignment Options topic. For example, here are some changes you can make:
    1. Update the title. You can easily correct typos or clarify titles after creating assignments, as needed.
    2. Edit the start and end dates, if this option has been enabled at your organization. For information about this option, see the CanEditAssignmentStartorEndDate topic.
    3. Edit the Present diploma upon completion check box.
      • Select the check box to allow administrators and trainees to print diplomas for this assignment after trainees complete it.
      • Clear it if you don't want trainees to have diplomas for this training.
    4. Enable automatic notifications based on changes to this assignment.
      • Check the appropriate boxes to enable automatic notification options.
      • Clear the check boxes to disable these options.
    5. Add training. See the Create Training Assignments topic for information about how you can select records in the Training section.
    6. Remove training:
      1. In the Training section, select the training to be removed.
      2. Click Remove.

    8. Remove trainees:
      1. In the People section, select the person to be removed.
      2. Click Remove.
  5. Click Save.

UL EHS Sustainability recommends that you do not edit the start and end date after an assignment begins. These changes could cause inaccurate completion percentages in reports.
