About the Organization Directory

The core purpose of PureSafety is to provide training to facilitate better safety awareness. PureSafety provides the framework for building your hierarchical structure and to collect employees' biographical data that is the basis for implementing effective safety training.

You build your organization's hierarchical structure in the Organization Directory , accessible by clicking the People tab in the top navigation bar. The Organization Directory screen provides links (on the left) to the building blocks used to organize your company’s employees, website user accounts, and roles.
  • You can see all the employees in your organization on the Everyone tab.
  • You manage your employees in the system by creating employee records, assigning each a user account, and placing them in your company's hierarchy and appropriate security roles. For more information, see the Maintain Employees topic.
  • The Organization Directory screen displays three main folders:
    • The first folder is typically your company's name and displays the entire hierarchy in your organization (see the PureWorks folder in the screenshot below). The hierarchy is designed based on two criteria: how you want to report on employees and how you want to assign training to employees. You can organize the hierarchy based on existing structural components such as company locations, departments, job codes, and so on. You can have as many levels in the hierarchy as necessary. In PureSafety, you create an organization unit for each component that requires reporting or to which you want to assign training. For more details about how to set up your hierarchy, see the Maintaining Organization Units topic.
    • The second folder is Groups. If you use group functionality in PureSafety, the Groups folder is displayed. Groups are associations of employees and organizational units across the hierarchy. For more information, see the Maintaining Groups topic.
    • The third folder, the Security Roles folder, displays all the security roles available in your organization and helps you configure your trainees' system access. For more details, see the Maintaining Security Roles topic.
